Lights, Fire and Loud Music!

EDC1The warmer months are upon us and that means outdoor concerts galore for everyone to enjoy. Each year there are a number of annual events that attract the biggest crowds and acts across multiple genres of music. The Electric Daisy Carnival has become one of the biggest events for the electronic dance music industry and has featured names such as Kaskade, Tiesto, David Guetta, Afrojack and Armin van Buuren. This year the show will be bigger than ever and is a true destination spot for industry lovers.

The Electric Daisy Carnival, also known as EDC, was started as a one day festival in Southern California but has since become a major event beyond that. Now the event tours to major venues in Puerto Rico, Florida, Nevada, New Jersey and other locations.

In 2011 the festival became a three day event that drew an estimated 230,000 people. The growth didn’t stop there as 2012 the total hit approximately 300,000 people for the three day show. At that point it became the largest North American music and dance festival event.

EDC2This year the Electronic Daisy Carnival will travel to New York on May 17-18, Chicago on May 24 through 26 and finish off in Las Vegas on June 21st through 23rd. Only the New York location has announced the acts performing and that list includes such performers as Calvin Harris, R3hab, Afrojack, DJ Fresh and Empire of the Sun. Ticket prices are posted online and can be found through the promotion company, Isomniac’s official website.

Electronic dance music is taking the music industry by storm as it becomes one of the most popular genres in the music industry today. Just as Rock and Roll had Woodstock back in 1969; the EDM movement has EDC and this is an event that shouldn’t be missed.
